TOGS2 in Austin

A gallery is generally a segregated white box equipped with a number of fluorescent lights instead of the sunlight in order to prevent artworks from the direct rays that cause serious deterioration.

However, if such a gallery exists outside, it would be just a dull and expressionless cube. An outdoor gallery of “Branch System” I propose will apply natural wisdom to architecture.
The Branch System would be efficient and
effective in terms of structure, environment, temporary existence and elegance. First, the small branches of the structure would create a wide space. The four main columns would sustain expanding small branches that provide dynamic walls and a roof. The other point is that wooden material of this structure absorbs and releases the heat and humidity from the sun. Therefore, it would provide a moderate space for art and people as an outside gallery. Besides, natural rule such as branch system provides an elegant configuration.
In brief, the gallery consisted of the Branch System can provide unique solutions to the art society. This proposal is possible to be a prototype of a temporary outdoor gallery space.

How will be the streets’ view in Manhattan changed by buildings in the near future? What kind of looks would be?
Broadway is the main street crossing Manhattan from South to North. It cuts the streets that have various looks; the immigrants’ life, Musics, Education, the upperclass’ life, Fashion, Art, Commerce, Food, Market. From these factors, the city will have been miscellaneous.
Besides that the city is complex. The street view would not change so much but would be consist of construction of glass boxes having reflection. The buildings are formed with gradual curves as implication of an organic design.
